All the details again.

- Time: 9:00 am until Noon
- Venue: Normal Meeting Room – Jubilee Centre
- Bring Your Own Props: This workshop encourages you to bring your props to use and share with others.
- Flat Lay Essentials: Flat lays are all about layering. Please bring along the following:
- 1 x background (something to put down as a base – so you don’t get the floor surface in your image)
- Plates/dishes to display food
- Food items
- Accessories like spoons, napkins, etc.
- If your food is wet or messy, consider bringing paper towels/wipes/dustpan for cleanup.
Camera/Lighting Gear to Bring:
- Tripod: If you have one, it can be extremely beneficial for stability.
- Boom Arm: If your tripod has a boom arm, it’s especially helpful for overhead shots.
- Shutter Release: A shutter release or remote can minimize camera shake during shots.
- Suitable Lenses: Consider bringing lenses suitable for the workshop, such as:
- Macro lens for close-up details.
- A versatile lens like 24-105mm for various perspectives.
- A prime lens like a 50mm for capturing crisp details and beautiful bokeh.
- Lighting Options: We’ll have a few lighting setups for you to experiment with, but natural light is also available. You can bring your own light sources if you have them.
Having the right gear will enhance your experience and allow you to explore different angles and compositions during the Food Flat Lay Workshop.
Optional Morning Tea: Feel free to bring a SMALL plate to share for morning tea if you’d like, although it’s not necessary.

Cape Hillsborough. Late afternoon and evening shoot.
Our February outing to Cape Hillsborough is on Saturday, 24. We’ll meet at the picnic area outside the caravan park around 5pm. Drinks and nibbles before heading to the beach and the rocks at the northern end of the beach. Sunset is at 6:35pm. so hopefully we will get some nice light. The tide will be out, but coming in. Look for reflections around the rock pools or maybe bring a friend to do some modelling on the beach. There is also a full moon which will rise around 6:30. Bring your tripods and filters for those nice long shots. Definitely bring insect repellent.
R.S.V.P. to outings@creativeshots.com.au by Feb.21st.

PAINT THE TOWN RED, BLUE, YELLOW.... Our creative eye was put to the test with our first outing of the year. Yes, it was hot, VERY HOT, but our photographers have come up with some great shots. From ICM, to macro and shots through glass there are some fabulous images. A well earnt cold drink and meal at Sorbellos topped off the night. It's always a good way to start the year. Thank you to everyone to came along.

2024 Michele and Noel Jackson’s THE CONCEPT OF TIME CHALLENGE
2024 Cherish Artz THE FLOWER PORTRAIT CHALLENGE
2024 Helen and Marian’s OUTINGS CHALLENGE
by Cheryl Eagers, January 22, 2024
Challenge 2024 – The Concept of Time
Big thanks to Michele and Noel Jackson for sponsoring a challenge for 2024 – The Concept of Time.
Members are encouraged to capture an image that represents the concept of time.
This could be interpreted in various ways, such as showing the passage of time through changes in nature or urban environments, capturing moments that depict different times of the day (dawn, dusk, midday, midnight), or illustrating the contrast between the old and the new.
The emphasis is on creativity – you are encouraged to think outside the box, eg a photo of a clock might be too literal, instead, think about capturing scenes like a tree with half its leaves in autumn colors, or a street from a perspective that shows both historical and modern architecture.
Photographers should also include a storytelling component where they submit a short narrative with their photo, explaining their interpretation of time in the work.
One entry per member.
Digital Image and Written Component to be sent in one email to:jacksonstockphotography@gmail.com
Deadline: 20th November 2024
